Photo from Flickr by: @NYCphotos-flickrMy how time flies! It seems like just yesterday when we were bidding farewell to the 2012 Jumpstart Foundry cohort after another successful Investor Day. Today is the day that we begin accepting early applications for the 2013 Jumpstart Foundry program.

Last year over one hundred technology oriented businesses from twenty-seven different cities and eight countries competed for the ten seats we had open. The 2012 program accelerated the growth of ten startups and built on the overall Jumpstart Foundry track record of success.

Over our first three years of the program, we have achieved a very strong 65% success rate!

Thirteen JSF alumni have raised follow-on capital and are building operations.  These results combined with a rigorous program refined over multiple years, a deep mentor pool and affiliation with the Global Accelerator Network position JSF as one of the top accelerators in the United States.

We have written before how our mentors are our secret sauce. It’s true. Thirty-seven percent of our mentors hold an executive position, thirty-eight percent are planning to hire at least five employees during the next calendar year, and sixty-two percent own their own businesses. You can learn more about these fine people on our mentor page

If you have what it takes to receive eighteen months of progress for your startup inside one intense fourteen-week experience, we are looking for you.

The early application period has ended. However, you can still  Apply today until April 2nd.

Hello, I’d like to know what your definition of a Tech company is. Do you have to be producing a tech product? How must technology be used in order to consider yourself a tech company?

Thank you for your question Monique. Our key areas are healthcare IT, information and data, and social engagement tools. However, if you have a compelling product you should still apply. Take a look at our previous teams to get an idea of the array of different companies who have graduated the program: http://jumpstartfoundry.com/the-alumni/

Have a great day. Best of luck if you decide to apply.

    Hello,
Just so I understand… I have an idea, in Healthcare IT’ish zone. It’s somewhere between a napkin, and a formal business plan. I’ve approached a few VC’s in the Detroit area, but they simply provided some nice compliments, and wished me well.
I do not have a ‘team’ of folks…just some techie folks I have leaned on to validate my thoughts. (I’m a sales guy…not very techie). I do not have a fancy little video or anything, either. I totally realize I need a ton of help…but I am rather confident and semi-bullish on my idea/concept…etc.
Thus, shall I assume JumpStart is looking to engage or entertain my gig, at this stage?

Hi Charlie, we recommend having a technical co-founder. However, you are welcome to apply to the program. Applications close April 2. Best of luck.
