What is your involvement with CoderFaire?
I’ve been lucky enough to have been invited to co-organize CoderFaire with Cal Evans.
What is CoderFaire?
CoderFaire is a language agnostic 2-day event with the first day being all about learning while the second day is all about building.
How was CoderFaire conceived?
Cal is the brains behind the event, but I believe Cal wanted a vehicle that showcased Nashville’s coder talent (all presenters are local coders), bring together the whole technology community, showcase local companies through our sponsorships and give the attendees a chance to use their new found knowledge by building something in our lab.
Who should attend the conference?
The schedule can be found here, http://nashville.coderfaire.com/schedule/, so you can see the types of topics covered. Still, though the topics are technical, I’m a firm believer that even if you only deal with coders that going to a conference like this would be great knowledge for you. Plus the connections you make are worthwhile. I’d even suggest if you have an idea you want to pitch be built during the second day’s hackathon, you come out and get to know the coders.
What can people expect to learn at CoderFaire?
Again, you can take a look at the schedule for the amazing topics being presented, but we’ve added something that makes the event even better and that’s our lab partners.
During both days our lab will be open for people to come in, relax and build things with the knowledge they are picking up from the sessions. In addition to this, we’re bringing in some amazing lab partners to be resources to the attendees, helping with coding questions, teaching them how to use technologies and overall being technical support to the technical attendees.
We’ve got some amazing lab partners lined up– partners such as Stratasan, Firefly logic, FoxyCart, Twilio, Mashery, SugarCRM, Jumpstart Foundry (of course), and we’ll be announcing another hopefully soon– who are sending their top technical employees to be there to support our attendees and answer any questions they have around their platforms and/or the technology they use.
Where can we learn more?
We have a lot of great information up on our site http://nashville.coderfaire.com and we’ll be posting even more as we approach the event date.
