This week we had the pleasure of Beth Chase speaking with the teams about company culture and effective hiring. Ms. Chase, founder and CEO of Nashville’s own C3 Consulting, stressed that small businesses should “hire slow, fire fast.” When hiring, teams should look for skill, culture, and desire.
In addition, a strong culture will make your company a fun AND efficient place to work. “Building a team is all about celebrating.” She explains. “I know it can be hard to celebrate when something’s broken, but you have to stop.” She stressed that having breaks in the team’s week to focus on relaxing culture-building is crucial to keeping a happy workforce. “Work hard, play hard. Stop and have a beer or a glass of wine!”
Finally, she emphasized to the teams that as entrepreneurs, they have a unique opportunity presented to them. “That’s the cool thing about starting your own company. Your personal vision can be lived out through the company vision.”
How do you maintain a strong company culture at your office?
